OMAHA (AP) — Weather forecasters say heavy snow and gusting northerly winds could make travel extremely hazardous in western and north-central Nebraska.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning early Wednesday morning for much of the state, although fall is but a few weeks old.
WEATHER GUYS: Snowstorm blows through the Plains
Heavy rain is expected to turn into heavy snow, whipped by the wind into near whiteout conditions.
The service expects snow totals to range from 5 to 9 inches, with the heaviest over Frontier, Lincoln and Custer counties.
