BEIJING (AP) - The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 5.7 earthquake has struck a remote northwestern Chinese region.
The center says Monday's quake struck just after midnight in the Xinjiang region near China's border with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
It says the quake was at a depth of 21 miles (35 kilometers).
The official Xinhua News Agency says the quake hit in the country of Wuqia.
The report did not mention any damage or injuries.
And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. -- Luke 21:11
