Magnitude-3.3 earthquake rattles area east of Coalinga
A small earthquake was reported near Coalinga, but there were no reports of damage or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Survey said Wednesday's magnitude-3.3 quake was centered 11 miles east of Coalinga. It struck shortly after 8 a.m. at a depth of about 9 miles.
The Coalinga Police Department said it received a call from a concerned resident, but had no reports of damage or injuries.
The last big temblor to hit the region was the magnitude-6.5 quake in 1983 that injured dozens of people and caused several million dollars in damage.
And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. -- Luke 21:11
