Israel rolls on Gaza

Ending days of speculation, Israeli ground forces, including tanks and infantry, began moving into Gaza Saturday night, eight days after Israel launched its assault on the Hamas-infested Strip.
Shortly before the movement began, IDF artillery began shelling the length of the strip.
Green, night-vision images of soldiers moving in long lines as parachute flares lit the sky over Gaza were shown on television screens around the world. According to early reports, Hamas' fighters saw the incoming Israeli soldiers and some outbursts of small-arms fire were reported.
Other reports told of tanks firing as they entered Gaza.
IDF sources reported that troops from the Armored Corps, Engineering Corps and Infantry Corps entered Gaza aiming to destroy Hamas infrastructure and prevent rocket fire by taking control of launching pads "in order to greatly reduce the quantity of rockets fired at Israel and Israeli civilians."
Analysts suggested that Israel has only 48 hours to make an impact before the arrival in the region of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who is expected to put pressure on the Israeli government to agree to a ceasefire with Hamas and get out of Gaza.
An IDF spokesman stressed that the ordinary residents of Gaza were not the target of the operation .
But she warned that anyone who hides a terrorist or weapons in his house is considered a terrorist; terrorists who used civilians as human shields would bear full responsibility for their fate.
Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal - enjoying sanctuary in Damascus - warned Israel by video Friday that "a black fate awaits you if you invade Gaza."
"We're sure of our victory, as we've prepared a better battle, and as Allah is on our side," he stated.
Tens of thousands of IDF reservists called up
The Israel Defense Forces has called up "tens of thousands" of reserve soldiers, according to reports Saturday night.
The news came at almost precisely the same time Israeli soldiers began entering the Gaza Strip at the start of a ground operation Israel warned could take "a long time."
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office said in a statement that, in accordance with a secret cabinet discussion Friday, the government ordered the armed forces "to draft the necessary reservists, on a scale of tens of thousands of troops."
Defense Minister Ehud Barak told the media he did not "want to fool anyone."
The operation won't be short or easy, he continued, adding that he knows "well the dangers and the price of military operation."
Israel's Arab citizens openly declare rejection of Jewish state
In what organizers described as one of the largest demonstrations ever held by Arab Israelis, tens of thousands of people took to the streets of the northern Israeli town of Sakhnin on Saturday to declare fealty with Gaza's Arabs and proclaim their support for the destruction of Israel.
A number of Knesset members attended the rally, including Wassil Taha who hailed the event as "one of the greatest demonstrations we have seen because it affects each and every family. People seek to express their pain by showing solidarity with the members of our nation [sic]."
Israel's Arabs are Palestinian Arabs who accepted Israeli citizenship and who enjoy all the benefits of that citizenship, including a higher standard of life than the citizens of any other Arab state in the Middle East.
The hatred of the Jewish state is so strong among many of these Arabs, however, that despite all of this they openly embrace the Arab dream of Israel's demise.
According to Ynetnews, rally leader Ibrahim Zabidat declared during his speech: "The Israeli killing machine must stop. I call from here to the people in Gaza and say: Don't be afraid, don't give up, block them with your blood in order to build the state of Palestine, whose capital is Jerusalem. We, the people of Palestine, will continue to defend it through battle with our soul and blood and in peace."
And Sakhnin Mayor Mazen Ghnaim sent "a greeting to Gaza's residents, who are facing the Israeli occupation machine. Long live Palestine, whose capital is Jerusalem, and long live the shahids (martyrs)."
Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Liberman denounced the treachery, saying that "just as the Israeli government knows the operation in Gaza can't be stopped until Hamas is defeated, so must we act against those citizens of Israel not are not loyal to the State."
Israeli governments have long looked the other way, choosing to ignore treasonous statements and actions by Israeli Arabs - including parliamentarians.

Israel Retaliates Against The Gaza

This morning I woke up to a plethora of news sitting on my desktop and 90% was about Israel and Gaza.
The latest news was that Gaza has launched over 70 Qassams Missiles and 2 Katyusha Rockets.
DEBKA Files report that military sources, after being knocked sideways by three days of massive Israeli air strikes, and more than 315 dead, Hamas appeared to have recovered its bearings sufficiently to pound Israel with more than 70 Qassam missiles and two Grad Katyusha rockets Monday, Dec. 29, on Day 3 of the operation.
Yep, it looks like things are escalating big time and in fact word is from a Foreign minister in Iran that the Iranian military is starting to ramp up with the anticipation of attacking Israel as well.
I have gotten several emails pointing to Bill Salus’ theory dealing with Psalms 83 and Ezekiel 37:10 in his book “Isralestine”; asking what I think.
In times like these is it easy to allow the news and information to cloud ones judgment and point to things saying “this is Bible Prophecy.”
Hey, I am willing to say that I have done it myself too.
But what I want everyone to remember is what Acts 17:11 states:
Act 17:11 (KJV) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

2009 and the battle for the Land

Around the world, as this year fades away, almost all eyes are on the economy. And when people worry about their pocket books they care a lot less about other issues “out there.” As far as the global situation goes, top economists in America and Europe warned this week that “we ain’t seen nothing yet.”
It looks like we who live in and care about Israel can say the same thing as far as the battle for the Jews’ historic homeland is concerned. If the incoming Obama administration, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations have their way - as spelled out by this self-appointed Quartet this past week - 2009 could well see Israel’s loosening grip finally relinquish its hold of Samaria and Judea - the home and burial place of Israel’s founding fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and the land of the Bible.
December 16 saw the United Nations Security Council pass a resolution endorsing the so-called two-state-solution. It reads:
“Lasting peace can only be based on an enduring commitment to mutual recognition, freedom from violence, incitement, and terror, and the two-state solution, building upon previous agreements and obligations.”

Israel and The Everlasting Covenant

In these last days Israel is under great attack. Many make foolish claims that Israel has no right to their land and do not deserve to be a nation! Others are against Zionism which is nothing more than Israel returning to the land given them by God for an everlasting possession.
All those who make the foolish claim that Israel has no right to their homeland are denying the Bible! God made an eternal and everlasting covenant with Abraham which can never be broken. Historically, due to sin and rebellion the nation of Israel was temporarily removed from their land. This happened twice.
1) the Babylonian captivity
2) in 70 A.D. when the Jews were defeated by the Romans and scattered to the four corners of the earth.
The land of Israel has been desolate since 70 A.D. However, in 1948 they became a nation again which fulfilled prophecy in Ezekiel chapters 36 and 37. God restored Israel as a nation and they are returning to reclaim their land given to them by God for an everlasting inheritance.
Like it or not but this is Bible prophecy concerning Israel and it is being fulfilled and no one can stop it. Israel is a nation again and they cannot be destroyed as God will not allow it! All peoples and nations who attack Israel will be cursed and destroyed as God judges them. These are very true and serious facts about Israel.

Blinding Developments: Israel and the World

Imagine this scene: A group of international lobbyists coordinate demonstrations in front of the European parliament buildings in Brussels, the UN headquarters in New York, the Kremlin, the White House and in Tiananmin Square in Beijing.
These peaceful demonstrators all carry a placard with the same preposterous message: “Israel, Soon the Capital of the World!”
Just what would be the response of the world’s nations? Certainly, the mandarins running each of the world’s power centers and its institutions, if not affronted, would mock this procession. After all, these elite policymakers are actively involved in solving the world’s problems — some even directly engaged in trying to pacify the strife in the oil-laden Middle East. They propose peace plans for Israel and the Palestinians, offer advice all around, all the while mostly considering Israel a rogue state. They think that Israel is a constant irritant to world peace, its capital, Jerusalem, “a burdensome stone” (Zechariah 12:3) and that the world would be better off without this country. After all, in their eyes Israel is considered a runt, a stub of a country located in a precarious and barren location, not even having international recognition of its own capital. And this will be the world’s capital … soon?
The demonstrators would be denounced as deranged. Certainly, their demonstration wouldn’t be covered on the evening news.
But, just what are the real facts? It may seem unbelievable to many today, but in the not too distant future, Israel will harbor the capital of the world. And, not only that. The world’s religious center will be found there as well as the seat of world government and the nexus point of world wealth.
