With the current US political season in full swing, ardent observers will note many things ongoing in our society. It is not that these are new things but rather, just heightened by the frenzy of activity caused by the US Presidential elections and more readily observable.

We live in a world of high-speed communications, 24 hour news cycles and the ability to gather information at a rate of un-precedented speed. Is that necessarily good? Couple that with the "fast food" mentality of a majority of society (i.e. I want it my way and I want it now), and you end up with a dangerous mix. You end up with a malleable mass of drones who don't read past the headlines and rarely actually analyze the information they are gorging upon. A majority will take a sensationalized headline and then move along claiming to be informed without doing any fact checking.

For those of you who are paying attention you may notice certain irregularities in reporting....some subtle...some not so subtle. You will note that people who hold no real credentials beyond being a professional faker (i.e. hollywood actors/actresses) giving their opinions as if what they say is of the utmost importance.

For example the recent remarks by Matt Damon and the by-product talking point generated from those remarks regarding dinosaurs and man. Does he realize he just alienated a fairly large segment of society? Is it that incredible to him that there are many of us who believe as Governor Palin does? Does he realize that his comments are as offensive to us as the remarks about those of us who out of bitterness cling to our Bibles and our guns? These are purely rhetorical questions of course as I know he could care less.

Another good example is the media coverage as a whole. It's easily recognizable to those of us paying attention which news sources are trying to actually report the news an which are merely editorializing. Here's where some of the subtlety comes into to play along with the absurdly overt things.

Tonight on CNN they had shows called "Sarah Palin Revealed" and "Joe Biden Revealed". The character of each show was wildly different and the attempt to play on the shallow emotional response of the viewers was apparent...again...if you were paying attention. When the Sarah Palin piece was playing the background music was swamp style deliverance music at the buffers and during the piece...in the Joe Biden piece it was all uplifting and soaring music. The people being interviewed during the Palin piece were either political adversaries or opponents...in the Biden piece they were childhood friends etc. It was pretty obvious what CNN was shamefully trying to do...build up Biden...discredit Palin.

Of late we have the overt attacks on Governor Palin's faith, family and background. Everything from miss categorizing what was said, to clever editing to make it appear she was saying something completely different - even so far as outright fabrications.

By this point you are probably asking "What else is new? Why are you recapping the news in a study piece?". It's simple...to me these are more signs of the fact we are approaching the end of days. Clear warnings about what is coming. This clear warning was given by Paul in 2 Timothy.

2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

There is much in this passage. Much can apply to anybody and everybody, but in the context of the message it applies specifically to those who are lost. It applies to those among the walking dead (they just don't know they're dead).

Let's look at this "class" of people know as the "elites" of the political world and the media world. This "class" of people typically have a liberal worldview. In other words a humanist world view. Everything is man centered. I'm going to jump around this passage a bit so bear with me.

In Washington D.C. liberal politicians like to play church to reach out to the common person (2 Tim 3:5a - have a form of godliness) however they are the first to jump on the bandwagon with the ACLU to crush any public display of Christian action, support abortion, create laws advocating homosexuality (2 Tim 3:5b - but denying the power thereof - by denying the power thereof meaning ignoring God's Word). They see Christianity as a joke and can't understand those that take it in a literal way (aka Matt Damon).

Let's consider the liberal media outlets...do any of these terms fit? Proud, blasphemers, unholy, false accusers, despisers of those that are good, heady, highminded. All fit not only the media but liberal politicians pretty well...again consider the talking points and media coverage of Sarah Palin.

Liberals rest much weight upon their "Ivy League educations" and the superiority of their position, experience and so on. But what does 2 Timothy 3:7 say? "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of truth".

Please note that although we are specifically labeling a group of individuals with the word 'liberal' it is not only a word. In reality it's an ideology complete with a world view, political agenda, social agenda and economic agenda that goes far beyond the individual. A large majority of these views and agendas are in direct conflict with God's plan. From listening to the comments made by men like Barack Hussein Obama and Matt Damon their disdain for what God says becomes clearly apparent. Furthermore by looking at the political and social agendas we see more questions that deserve close attention...abortion is good?!? Same sex families are ok?!?

What does God have to say about this?

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Right now we are being led to believe that up is down and down is up by the liberal agenda driven media. People who hold an opposing view to mine will claim I'm misrepresenting and "reading into things" (oddly enough liberal 'evangelicals' make the same claim). The thing is if you make a concerted effort to consider all of the elements of a basic broadcast (music, graphics, headlines, backgrounds, facts, comments, questions being asked and in what manner) it is plainly apparent there is a bias in the media. These media outlets are evidently 'pulling' for one candidate over the other and sacrificing true reporting to operate as a propaganda machine for 'their' candidate of choice.

Aside from the polished productions of the media and the polished stump speeches of the candidates - and more importantly their past record of performance (or lack thereof as the case may be) - we have the record of the associations they have had, the ideology held by those associates, and the agendas pushed by them etc. Combine all of this together and we have a direction for this country that we SHOULD NOT be heading in.

We have but one choice for our nation...and although in this election supporting the Republican party might be a good start, there's a much better solution. One that God has provided for us:

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
