Earlier I posted a piece entitled "Are you worried yet" on the first of October in our blog. Throughout the election process the Democratic candidate had morphed from veritable unknown, to "rock-star/celebrity" status. As the campaign process continued we witnessed (and continue to witness) an almost religious fervor, bordering on fanaticism, with our president-elect. This fervor has been growing daily to full-blown claims of messianic, or messianic-like proportions. More and more people are combining the word messiah with Obama in the same sentence.
The process was a gradual one at first, but later it seemed to gain greater momentum. From occasional refer-ences and comparisons to a messianic figure to full-blown claims and inferences of his god-likeness.
As I've watched this process, been in discussions around the water cooler, and comparing what I was seeing to both Scripture and history, I've come to the following conclusion:
Although he is not likely to be the Antichrist painted by Scripture in Daniel, 1 John and Revelation (as some might say), he could indeed be another anti-Christ type figure much like other prominent figures who have come and gone in earth’s history such as: the Caesars of Rome, Antiochus Epiphanes, Benito Mussolini, Adolph Hitler, etc. It is interesting to note these latter two (Mussolini and Hitler) rose to power riding on a platform of change. (I’m not suggesting Obama is Hitler, just relaying some interesting information on cha-rismatic leaders rising to power)
Now for the casual reader, you may wonder why we would bother writing an article about any of this. Are we not perhaps overreacting?
The answer lies in the fact of just how bizarre people have become over the entire Obama campaign. Websites and news reports of this messianic complex people have for the president-elect are well documented. One website of particular interest, has compiled many of these articles and statements in one convenient location. A collection of the materials produced to date regarding the messianic status that Barack Obama has attained is catalogued at http://obamamessiah.blogspot.com/. Frankly most of what that site contains is not only disturbing to me, but downright heretical.

First let's look at some of the obvious features of this website. As we do this keep in mind that this isn't the mindless ramblings of one fanatic, but a collection and catalogue from a wide variety of sources.
Initially just perusing the front page you will note not only images and graphics that try to confer ethereal and heavenly attributes to the man, but article titles and stories that portray the shallow comparisons in a like manner. For example we have images that have a "halo" effect in many forms, images that give the appearance he's levitating amongst the people, a banner for a website titled "Manifest Obama: Your vision is a sacred trust". One piece of particular note is a "work invoked the sacred, picturing Obama's great head--illuminated by sunbursts--emerging from the clouds over a bare-breasted maiden who is robed in an American flag and emerging from a volcano. Note that in the lower-right-hand corner an assemblage of people are literally kneeling before Obama."
These are but a few. These images and works are created by people across the globe portraying him as a god-like character. The videos on the page carry the same theme and include a video of school kids chanting "Alpha Omega" and and singing worship songs about Obama. Of particular note is the article discussing the children singing the worship song entitled "Precious Children Sing to our Glorious Leader".
The articles are just as disturbing. For example, an entry on June 16 opens this way: '"This is my Beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased"... And when (of note is that Jesus is crossed out in the article) OBAMA was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."'
Then there's this quote from Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. :
“I cried all night. I’m going to be crying for the next four years,” he said.
“What Barack Obama has accomplished is the single most extraordinary event that has occurred in the 232 years of the nation’s political history. ... The event itself is so extraordinary that another chapter could be added to the Bible to chronicle its significance.”
WHAT?!?! Add to the Bible in order to chronicle the rise of Obama?!?
Calls for "faith", "hope" and "believe" along with biblical comparisons and appeals to many new age characteristics adorn many of the pages of documentation on that website.
To say this disturbs me is an understatement. What concerns me more, however, are the "Christians" who supported (or support) this candidate. It seems to me that their faith was misplaced and they are chasing the wrong messiah.
As I peruse various websites and articles and have discussions with believers, I see a common thought pattern. "Man, this guy could be the Antichrist".
It does make a compelling thought and a cause for study and comparison.
When you take a close look at the Scriptures and what they say regarding the personage of the Antichrist, Obama does indeed fit many of the qualities and descriptors for the Antichrist, BUT as in all things prophetic in nature, "many" is not good enough. I seriously doubt he is the Antichrist, however, I will not discount that much like Hitler, Mussolini and Antiochus Epiphanes, he does seem to be an antichrist type or prototype. (I would encourage you to read J.R.Hall's article on the antichrist and make the comparison yourself).
Let's take a look at some things. First he claims to be Christian but has made multiple missteps that seem to relay a different tale. In an interview with George Stephanopoulos he went on about his "Muslim faith being important" and Mr. Stephanopoulos corrected him with "your Christian faith"...Obama replies..."Yes, my Christian faith".
His Christian faith?? Really??
During a fund raising event in San Francisco this alleged Christian goes on to degrade a majority of Christian Americans by calling them "bitter people who cling to their Bibles and guns".
Oh, that indeed sounds like a Christian to me! Sure it does!
How about his stance on abortion. He's defended partial birth abortion and made a weak attempt at the Saddleback Forum to pass the buck and dodge the fact that he supports abortion.
YOU CANNOT BE A CHRISTIAN AND SUPPORT ABORTION....IT DOESN'T WORK!! How can you claim to be of God but not respect the sanctity of life that He provides?? The Bible says, “Thou Shalt Not Kill” and our conversation on abortion should end at just that.
Let us consider a few biblical points.
It is well documented that liberal politicians tend to support things such as homosexual marriage and transgender lifestyles, abortion, removal of God from the public square and so on.
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
When I have talked to Obama supporters, I have noted there's a zealous fanaticism. They don't want to be confused with the facts, but rather happily move along on their emotional experience brought on by their belief in something. When confronted with fact, they quickly move to anger. Within the growing religious fervor, his supporters have ignored the facts.
To the masses of those who follow him mindlessly in this fashion, I would caution them with the following passage:
2Co 11:12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Read that again. Just as Satan can transform himself into an angel of light, so can his ministers.
On the surface Obama appears to be a cool customer, polished with much charisma, but his policies, his politics, his acquaintances, his disdain for people of faith all speak loudly of the fruit he truly bears...it's rotten.
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Could this all be the delusion cast upon those who love not the truth? Maybe. Is Obama an antichrist type figure, a wolf in sheep's clothing looking to lead people from the truth in favor of their earthly desires? Seems likely.
As I stated in that earlier article, I believe this is a stage-setter. The Lord is moving final pieces on the stage to set the players up for the final countdown. I truly believe that those that have succumbed to the charisma of Obama are going to get a rude awakening when their messiah does not perform as they had hoped.
It's clear to many of us that Obama is not what he seems. But to many others, those without the truth, they have fallen for a grand deception. The truly sad part about it is they've replaced the true Savior with a savior of their own making. Unless they awaken from their slumber, repent and trust in the one true Savior they will spend a conscious eternity in the Lake of Fire. This may sound harsh, but it's reality.
The reality is that God made the Lake of Fire for Satan, the Antichrist and the False Prophet, and not for people. However, those who reject Christ and have therefore made Satan the master of their life, will - of their own volition – follow him straight to the Lake of Fire.
How I hope and pray the public would wake up, look at history, and read the Scriptures and then make the comparison with world events them-selves. If they do not, they are doomed to repeat history and ultimately end up following a man, instead of the Savior.
Two final notes for those claiming Obama is the Messiah. Scripture makes clear that when the Messiah comes it will be an event like no other, it will not be the slow rise to power of an ordinary man:
Mat 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Mat 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.
Mat 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Finally, is this simple thing....
Exo 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
By proclaiming Obama as some sort of messianic figure, you are shattering the first commandment of God the result of which is as follows:
1Co 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1Co 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Although he didn’t get my electoral support, I truly do hope and pray that Obama will be able to do great things for this nation of ours. As required of me by God, I will choose to pray and serve my new President. However, ultimately my trust, and my faith will reside in the only one who can truly save us from ourselves.
