Here is the lecture that is making a little stir by Phil Johnson called "Sound Doctrine; Sound Words". He gave this at the 2009 Shepherd's Conference. While this lecture does touch on certain problems in evangelicalism naming them specifically, that's not the reason this lecture has impressed upon me so much although I do agree with him that all of the examples he provided have no place in church. What made this so important to me was the exegesis he offered as to why not only sound doctrine but also sound speech, behavior, etc. is taken on by him and many others (including the Apostle Paul as Phil demonstrates) as something that should not be taken lightly in regard to ourselves, our relationship to others and, our relationship to God.
