Jesus’ threat in the above verse soon became reality. The church at Ephesus, which was located in present-day Turkey, has disappeared, and there is practically nothing left to remind us of it. In its place, the doctrine of Islam is now proclaimed where the light of the Gospel once shone, through the local church at Ephesus. Where once the “candlestick” of the Word of God once stood, today the minarets of the Islamic mosques now stand. The church had left her first love and did not return to it, and this action had fateful consequences. What does the Bible mean by first love?

The primary way critics of our prophecy views attack what we believe the Bible teaches is to distort our view of literal interpretation. They like to paint literal interpreters of the Bible as being believers in “wooden literalism,” which they now simply label as literalism. Our critics assume this method of interpretation to be a naïve, sophomoric understanding of biblical literature. Many have answered these claims and have tried to set the record straight,
but their words have increasingly fallen upon the deaf ears of opponents who simply refuse to listen.

One-World Order conspiracies seem to be a popular view with many people. In the first of this three-part series, we concluded that quite a bit of misinformation and misdirection is swallowed up in some of the more extreme versions. We are referring here mainly to such ideas that a sinister group of people — mostly the rich elites of the world, or possibly “international bankers” or Jews — are taking over the world rank and file.
